Division of Oral and Maxillofacial SurgeryThe Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a center for the correction of dental facial deformities as well as comprehensive care for maxillofacial trauma victims. The Division’s practice at the Medical Arts Building treats patients with dental facial deformities, dental implant needs, reconstructive jaw surgery, impacted teeth, and head and neck tumors. A new surgical suite equipped for reconstructive oral and maxillofacial surgery, new digital imaging capabilities and additional exam rooms are available. The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency is the second oldest training program of oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the United States. The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program, which received full accreditation in January 2006, offers diversified training for treatment of facial trauma, surgical reconstruction of skeletal deformities, facial cosmetic surgery, trauma surgery, and dental implants. Research studies include surgical outcomes in neurosurgical patients via mid-face osteotomies; transorbital minimally invasive surgical approaches to anterior circulatory aneurysms; outcomes assessment of orthognathic surgery patients; and temporal defect reconstructions with Medpore and dermal grafts. Cincinnati Surgery: Oral and MaxillofacialThe Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has a long-standing commitment to the oral and maxillofacial surgery needs of the Cincinnati community. The Division donates approximately 2,000 hours to the community each year in terms of treating patients at low (uninsured) or no cost. Drs. Marciani and Reddy are frequent invited speakers in the region and nationally. Dr. Reddy was elected a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in October 2006, a rare honor for an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Dr. Reddy also begins serving as the President of the Ohio Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ODSA) in 2008.
